November

Athira in August 2008

November is a big month for us since Tia would turn four. I am not sure whether we are going to do something with anyone, or just something small between the three of us. I hosted an open house in 2006 for Raya and her birthday, it was not bad, though I think we would prefer something more intimate this year.

I would probably bake her some cupcakes with toppings of her choice, and eat out. Oh, don’t forget those candles. She, like most kids her age, likes to blow candles atop the cake, and then started wishing everyone either a Happy Birthday or Happy Valentine’s Day. Too much tv, I know.

About the photo. It was taken in August this year in the husband’s place in Damansara. In the master bedroom, of course, where we had the workstation (yes, I know not a good idea to work in your bedroom), and also the small tv. I was doing something on the computer when she sashayed inside the room wearing this and asked me to take some photos of her. I obliged.

This past week had been quite weird. It rained heavily last week, and now all of a sudden, the sky opened up, and the heat is also cranked up, I believe. It had been unbelievably hot these past few days, cooking during the day would be quite unbearable since I would be sweating  like a pig crazy. Reading books during the day prove to be quite difficult since I would try to fan myself, though the fan is turned on high. The only other option would be turning on the ac. That done, had to be careful because the utility bill could get scary. Though the price of fuel had gone down, we yet to see utility going down, though it went up couple of months ago because of rising price of fuel. So what gives, eh? I don’t see the equation there, but that could be because I am just a country bumpkin. What do I know about fuel, surcharges, economy, no?

But anyway, I, finally, upload photos to the photo album. Takes ages because I am using this bloody slow wireless connection, but heck, at least now I could finally upload  it while sweating like a pig in this hot like an oven kitchen , so I am quite a happy camper.

Mom just called me, asking when would I be going over to Alor Staq for a visit. I had been thinking about it, and I already asked the husband whether it would be OK. He okayed it, so maybe me and Tia would go and stay for a few days over in Alor Star sometime this week, or the weekend. I mentioned to Mom that I wanted to eat more of her ketupat and serunding daging(beef) or ikan bilis (anchovies), so we’ll see if I would be lucky and Mom made rent a car bulgarialots some for me to gobble on. I had my fair share of those yummy ketupat, eaten with sweetened condensed milk, no less,  but I wanted to eat more of it with serunding or even curry. So now Mom knew that I wanted those, hopefully I would get my ketupat fix sometime this week or next! Tak sabaqnya…. nyums….
