Bah

Posted under Baking, Hari yang bosan, Just babling...

This is really not good. We are here, for the time being, at Damansara, at the husband’s apartment. I have most things that I need to cook, but if I wanted to bake, there is no oven here. None.

And when there is no oven around, I have this hankering for some desserts. It could be good ol’ chocolate cake, it could be a pie. It could be anything baked.

meringue

Well, actually, I do have something that I wanted to try. I wanted to try baking this meringue. I had never attempted to bake any meringues before. It does look complicated, and I am not sure whether I would be able to do it, but heck, at least I could try, yes?

But then, I would have to wait until we go home to Kedah, or if we get one over here. But then, if we do get one over here, we then would have to buy all those baking products, like the mixer, all the pans and tins etc etc etc. How could I justify getting all those stuffs when all I wanted was to make one measly fruit meringue? You tell me.
Bah.

So now if we wanted to eat any chocolate cakes or any desserts, we would go to the bakery. Or we would go and pick one of those ice cream cakes from Haagen-Dazs. However you spell it. It is exorbitantly priced, so I don’t think that would be one we would get even once a month. We get this one, almost similar like this, I mean, and it costs us bunch. How could people spend that much monthly,

I am not sure. We must have a lot of well-to-do folks about, eh?

Perhaps their grow money on trees. It keeps on growing, eh?

I would like to have a money tree, come to think of it.

Anyways, we don’t really spend that much on desserts anyways. Our favorite would be the one that we get over at McDonald’s. Really.

I have taken some photos of the Haagen-Dazs torte, but I haven’t uploaded it to the photo gallery. So I would put it up here later. Much, much later. Maybe. Perhaps.
So OK I would put it up later on. I am anal like that.

Yum. I definitely would want to have these raspberries on the meringue.

Nothing.

It boils down to nothing, really, what I am doing these days. It is so boring, I will freely admits. No internet connection during the day since the husband uses the darn old, heavy, and pretty much useless notebook, so I am left to my own devices. Erm. I shouldn’t say devices since there is no freaking devices to play around with!

OK I am calm down now. I am typing this early in the morning since this is the only time that it is cool enough that I brain won’t hurt from thinking about what to write. I cooked early on, too, since it would be far too warm to cook later in the morning. The air conditioning unit had not been fixed in yet, so we would have to sweat our bodies out during the day. OK, not much of a problem there. Thankfully it had been raining on and off these past few days, so I am thankful for that reprieve from the heat.

Anyway, been uploading some photos to the photo album, so I would try to upload some over at FB and here. Would take awhile. Probably this weekend, if we are not doing anything. Thing is, since the husband work late most nights, we tend to do stuffs during the weekends, and that pretty much leave me with no time to do this then.

And it is such a b|tch to logon to my own journal using this wireless piece of !*@* that I rarely felt like updating or doing anything with it. Thankfully we installed bloggar on this notebook. So I am typing away over here as much as I could.

Putting photos up is another matter altogether.

Did I mention that I have 3000 odd photos to upload?

Yeah.

But anyway, last night we went to Bagan Lalang to eat seafood. Yes, the infamous Bagan Lalang. I had razor clams, which I had been wanting to eat for like forever since I first saw them over at Wing Yip in Croydon in 2005 I think. I did not remember why we didn’t get them then, but whatever. Had them, thought that they tasted just like any shellfish that I had before. So that done. It is not that far away, about an hour an half cruising. One could drive faster during the day I think, so making it into an hour journey would be totally possible, I guess.

Took some photos there, but have not even uploaded it into the computer, much less over to the photo album. So I guess that would be another weekend thing that I would have to do.

Guess you folks would have to contend with this one snapshot of Tia. Over at Genting Highlands. During Labor Day. Bloody swarmed with people, I tell you. Heh.

Drying them out

Posted under Hari yang bosan

I know it’s the end of the year. It’s MONSOON SEASON again, but here up north, it’s Hot..and Hot like nobody business. And just as I put the washing out.. here comes Mother Nature …thundering down with a downpour. And the hubby…who hates to drive in Penang… will always ‘rempit’ all the way to the island for work or what not instead of just paying the RM7 Penang Bridge toll and the RM 2.60 on the BKE. Citing he hated to park and the stop start traffic in the island itself, he would save alot, by just paying RM1.12 for the bridge on the bike instead.

So, things are OK. Things get done, and when it’s rush hour and time to finish off the business and get home… that’s when mother nature love to play tricks on him. Kabush! Huge downpour just off the Bridge… and it rains just down there. Heh heh heh.. serve him right.

But come back home.. muddy and wet and …with the smell of traffic, and whatever excuse he came up with, it’s always a muddy wet pair of jeans, and the coat..and the t-shirt. Plus the daily load of the little angel’s mess… yeah, she will pick as much as 5 sets a day..or hour. So imagine the load.

And even under the fan, in a hot kitchen overnight, it won’t dry as much or as good as those Kenmore Dryers which I use at the launder mat in the University or back in Kent. They dry fast, and makes the clothes so soft and easy to fold, without the need to iron them out, just as they come out of the dryer. And because they use mainly GAS instead of Electric, it saves more money.

Another item on the wish list, and not that the cost is too much..it saves me alot. Of hassle that is….

Oh.

Posted under Hari yang bosan, Nothing in particular...., Pondering...

My sister might be going home (after a very long and extended holiday in Kulim) tomorrow. Oh no more helper for me, I feel *lol*. Yes, she helped me a lot around the house when she is around. She is good with Tia, too.

That woman spoilt me to pieces. Washes Tia’s bottles and make her milk, wash the dishes and then the clothes. Hung those clothes up and then fold it up, put it into the wardrobe. Did I mention that she washes the dishes, too?

Granted, I had been working my tails off these past month. I don’t feel guilty for letting her help me THAT much :D

Now kinda feeling lethargic, from all these laying around tee hee…

Maybe I should get myself a housekeeper.
