Dinner tonight,
Eat outs...,
Good eats. Or not,
Jalan-jalan.... cari makan

This would be the first time that I visited this establishment. This is not the first time I eat the food, though. The husband bought some takeouts of some dishes last year, and I was so sure that the food offered were not up to par for the price paid. Might as well buy from our local Ayamas if I were to be blunt, I told him.
But yet, I decided to give this place a chance since what do I got to lose, right? So off we go one night couple of months back. Yes, I had forgotten all about these photos until I was searching for something else and stumbled upon it.
But anyway, I was happy that I chose to give this place a chance because it proved me wrong! The food that I ate was takeaways, so probably it was not as good as it would be should I eat them at their restaurant.
I didn’t eat any chicken, the husband did. I ordered lamb chops, or something lamb. It was delicious. The service was very friendly and not lagging, though I do have one grumble. Why not offer bottomless soda/teas since you already charge much for it? Other than that, it was fine.

I definitely would be going there, soon hopefully

Eat outs...,
Good eats. Or not,
Jalan-jalan.... cari makan Part Deux
To continue from Part Un. We waited and since we were hungry, we asked for more complimentary breads. They came. And still no smiles from those waitstaff.
Weird.
But anyway, my spinach and artichoke formaggio were the first to arrive. Swell. Can you spot any differences? OK so anyway, it was too delicious for word. I found one artichoke. But I am sure more were hidden underneath that delicious concoction. And no way that was a big portion, especially when shared.
Especially when one was starved.
Enough said.
Tia’s Grilled Salmon Origanato were the second in line. It came with wilted spinach at the bottom, and potato wedges.
The salmon was fine. Delicious as it should be when simply grilled like that. The spinach was a huge turnoff. They should be using baby spinach as the one pictured below, not our local sawi. I was really surprised that an establishment like this would make a blunder like that. It would have tasted wonderful if baby salad spinach were used instead of stringy local sawi. Hmmmm….
So anyway, the filet mignon arrived. And yes, those are the same wedges served for delicate salmon and for robust filet mignon. And those portabella mushrooms were sliced so thinly, I almost missed it.
Tastewise, it was a steak. It was cooked as per instruction, and we get the steak.
What I don’t get is, why would they present their steak as such? No care was given into it, and I would always prefer Chillies and TGiF compared to this one any day.
My sister and I shared her portions. I tasted some of Tia’s salmon, and then we went home.
Of course we did not order any desserts.
For the price that we pay, I am not sure it is worth going there to dine. I might go there again to try their pastas. I maybe should have just stick to that. Pastas and pizzas, right?

Eat outs...,
Good eats. Or not,
Jalan-jalan.... cari makan Part Un
Previously, I mentioned that we ate at Italiannies over at 1Utama around CNY. We planned to eat late lunch since my sister mentioned that it would be quite busy during lunch hour. Thankfully we had quite a late breakfast, so we were not that hungry anyway.
While driving to 1Utama, we had some problems with the car. So we had to make a pit stop for about an hour to have it somehow fixed. It was a dreadfully hot day, and luckily the ac wasn’t going bonkers, lest I would have scratched my eyes out because I just couldn’t stand too much heat!
Anyway, we reached 1Utama, and walked to an almost empty Italiannies, much to our delight!
Why did we go to Italiannies? Somebody suggested that we try their sister restaurant, Italiannies, after the fiasco over at TGiF at Queensbay Mall awhile back. That’s why we went there. And being under the same management, I thought I would get the same kind of service that I would get at TGiF (sans the spoilt salmon heh ).
The waitstaff were so sombre I at first thought that somebody died. Seriously. Oh I know this is an Italian restaurant, but you don’t have to put that hoity toity facade, right? Or am I wrong? Not to say that they were being rude or anything because they did not. But like I mentioned before, smile is not expensive. To smile to the customer is even cheaper because the customer might like like the service enough to come back to your establishment. Even if the food don’t measure up to par. At least I know I would….
Browsed through the menu, and the husband and the sister knew that they wanted to eat steak. I wanted to try their Spinach and Artichoke Formaggio for RM29.90 as a starter to be shared with everybody else, and a main dish for myself. The helpful waitstaff informed me that it is a big serving in itself, so I decided to order just that for now….
The husband and the sister ordered Filet Mignon with Portabella Mushrooms for RM46.90, and my sister was so happy thinking that she would be eating the mushroomS as pictured above.
Oh, don’t forget for Tia. We ordered for her the Grilled Salmon Oreganato. Yes. More salmon for her. All RM44.90 of it.
While waiting for our dishes to arrive, we ate these bruschetta and bread dipped in olive oil and balsamico. Ohhhh a delight, I will add.
And so we waited for the dish to arrive.
And we waited some more….

Eat outs...,
Ggggrrrrrr,
Good eats. Or not
Looking out…
The last time that we ate steaks over at any restaurants must have been a little bit over three months. And that just don’t sit well with my husband, and to me, truth be told.
We love out steaks.
And so we decided that we want to eat steak. Upon that, we decided between two establishments. One we had not been to since coming back home, but we used to eat there when we were back here in 2004.
The other we had frequented a few times since last year.
We decided for the latter. Major plus point is that the establishment is situated in a big shopping mall. So if and when Tia decided she had enough of sitting down, one of usthe husband could then easily take her around in her pram while the other parent me could easily enjoy the meal and snap lots of photos, when it comes to that without much fuss.
We came. We sat. Looked at the menu. Ordered. And the husband took Tia out.
I waited for the food, and continued to snap.
Wall of something… or the other….
